We started the day with a visit to the Acropolis Museum in Athens, newly built to house the treasures of the site which had been removed long ago, mostly to England, and hopefully will be restored to Athens. There is a full-size recreation of the Parthenon inside the museum, including as many antiquities as they have obtained so far, and representations of what is missing. Photos were not allowed inside, but this is the main entrance. 
The museum was carefully situated above these excavations of ancient buildings. This work is still continuing. 
We headed south of Athens, stopping for lunch at another beautiful restaurant. Here's the view from one side.

Then on to Sounion and the temple of Poseidon, guarding the coast.

This is the last view of mainland Greece, taken as we flew to Crete from the airport at Sounion.
