Fine Oscar Moment
I saw the Academy Awards on Sunday evening, and the high point of the event for me was Javier Bardem's acceptance speech. Short, to the point, and emotional. I loved that after a few brief thanks, he first apologized to the audience for speaking in Spanish because his mother doesn't understand English, and he then spoke directly to her in the audience for several moments. It must have been something special because he had her in tears. It was a lovely and gracious tribute, and I can't wait for his next movie.
